    Locum NP/PA Emergency Medicine needed in Lansing (and Mt Pleasant)
    Emergency Medicine APP (NP/PA) Level III ED
    Seeking experienced Emergency Medicine APPs (NPs/Client) to join a growing float pool providing PRN coverage in its Level III Emergency Department. This role focuses on independent practice within the department's Fast Track area, with full physician support available at all times.
    Practice Setting & Volume

    • Level III Emergency Department
    • Annual ED volume: ~40,150 visits
    • Average daily volume: ~110 patients (divided among providers)
    • Fast Track (VUE): 10-bed area within the ED
    • ED size: 50 beds
    • EHR: Cerner
    • ~60% of hospital admissions originate from the ED
    • ~20% of ED patients admitted daily

    Role & Responsibilities

    • APPs work independently in the Fast Track (VUE)
    • Attending physicians available 24/7 for consultation and support
    • No supervision responsibilities for Emergency Medicine residents
    • Admission orders placed by house officers; APPs request beds as needed
    • OB patients sent directly to Labor & Delivery

    Scheduling & Coverage

    • APP shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM, 7 days per week
    • Single-physician coverage from 2:00 AM – 8:00 AM
    • Peak physician coverage from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM with three physicians on duty
    • Emergency Medicine residents average two shifts daily at varying times

    • 24/7 Radiology and Laboratory
    • AABB-certified Blood Bank
    • Pathology services
    • Operating Room and all surgical specialties available

    Provider Requirements

    • Board-Certified NP or PA
    • Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience
    • Active Michigan license (IMLC not accepted)

    Local candidates only

    • Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), ATLS
    • DEA required
    • Clean background for expedited credentialing

    Credentialing & Onboarding

    • Reverse billing site; clock in/out via DocTime
    • Occupational health clearance required (immunizations, TB, flu, COVID, TDAP)
    • NPDB self-query within 30 days required at presentation
    • Submission must include full contact details, DOB, address, availability, and credentials at name clear
